Client Testimonials
MeLissa Bates: Jessie was wonderful. Her and the nurse were very compatible. They bounced ideas off each other to make my labor much easier on me. Jessie helped me get out of bed and walk and be active to keep the pains down. She also helped my boyfriend and I feel comfortable during the labor and about choosing to have an epidural. I would recommend Jessie to anyone who needs a doula. Thank you so much Jessie. Posted 11/4/2011
Jessica Cobb: Jessie helped us deliver in 2009 and 2011 and we could not have asked for a more attentive, supportive doula. She took the initiative to make sure I got what I needed, made it possible for my husband to feel comfortable taking a few breaks, asked questions for us, and let us know what our alternative options were at all times. She also had amazing techniques for pain relief, which helped me get within an hour of delivering my first son without pain medication and got me completely through delivering my second son pain medication free. She was always encouraging and happy to be there no matter how many times I called on her (early in the pregnancy and up to the time of delivery), serious when the time called for it, and funny whenever she could be to keep the occassion feeling like the happy one it was. I plan on asking her to be there with us again should we have more children and have referred her to every pregnant woman I know! Posted 11/4/2011
Jessica Cobb: Jessie was a fantastic help before and during labor. She gave me some great techniques for relieving the back, sciatic and pelvic pain I had towards the end of my pregnancy and was a great comfort when I got nervous or worried about delivering naturally. When I was leaking fluid and was sent to L & D for an exam she kept in close touch with me and when a routine Dr. appointment at 37 weeks turned into a hospital trip and attempted induction she was by my side reassuring me the whole time. After my induction failed and my son's heartrate and our amniotic fluid returned to safe levels we were in touch several times a day every day. Knowing I could count on her while my husband was at work (we only had 1 car) was a constant relief, especially when I finally did go into labor and she made the trek over to pick me up and get me to the hospital safely. She walked with me for hours and was a great help during active labor giving me counter pressure and suggestions for pain management. I do wish I had paid more attention to her suggestions to keep moving during active labor; I feel like I could have finished progression naturally. But, as it stands, I decided to sit in the birthing tub a bit too long and my labor stalled. At my midwife's suggestion we started pitocin and shortly thereafter my son was born. Jessie was a great coach while I was pushing as well. It was so helpful for my husband too, he was able to focus on comforting me instead of urging me to push. Having both was an amazing help. She also got along very well with the midwife and nursing staff at the hospital and took the initiative in asking for things I needed/wanted and making sure I was as comfortable as possible. I can't imagine going through another birth with any other doula. Posted 2/25/2010
Susanne Jenemann: Jessie was my doula for my third birth, which was a natural water birth. I can't say enough about how supportive Jessie was. Despite it being my third baby, the end of my pregnancy was very difficult and unpredictable. Each time I went into L&D for false labor, Jessie was right there beside me and not once made me feel bad for dragging her out only to be sent home.
During the delivery, Jessie just had a way about her to say exactly what I needed to hear. She used various doula techniques to get me through the roughest contractions.
Since it was a water birth, I spent most of my labor mostly nude, and she not once made me feel awkward or uncomfortable. She is truly there to support her clients to make their birthing experience comfortable and memorable.
My transition and pushing were increadibly intense and painful, but Jessie stayed very calm and was able to focus me back to getting the baby delivered, when I wasn't able to do that for myself.
Jessie brought a lot of positive energy, you can just feel that she loves and is excited about bringing babies into the world and I would recommend her in a heartbeat!! Posted 2/24/2010
